Guided tour of the open-air museum Hägnan

Step back in time and explore life in the old farming community of Luleå parish. During this guided tour, we visit two historic farmsteads that reflect different eras and living conditions – one showing life on a prosperous farm in the 1880s, and the other, the Peri-Hanscha farm, set in the 1920s.

You’ll also learn about other museum buildings and their functions – such as why the härbre (storehouse) was considered the farm’s treasure chest, and how the stable was linked to masculinity. We’ll also share stories about traditional food culture and the transformation of Storgården from a small cottage into a grand Norrbotten farmhouse.
