Want to learn more about Gammelstad Church Town and why it’s a World Heritage Site?
Then join one of our guided tours through the world’s largest and best-preserved church town!

Feel history come alive as you walk along narrow streets and alleys, visit a church cottage, and peek inside the late medieval Nederluleå Church (subject to ceremonies). During the tour, you will learn more about what it was like in Gammelstad in the past, how the church town is used today and why the place is a world heritage site that is important to preserve for the future. The tour takes about an hour and starts from Visitor Center.

We advise you to wear weather-appropriate clothing since large parts of the tour will take place outdoors. During the tour we visit a church cabin that is not adapted to modern accessibility requirements.
