Friluftsmuseet Hägnan
Cost
50 SEK per person, free for children under 18 years old
Join us on a guided tour! Step into the farmhouses and experience life in the countryside of Norrbotten as it once was.
Every Tuesday-Thursday from June 23-August 13. At 1 PM in Swedish and 2 PM in English. The guided tour takes approximately 60 minutes and can be booked in Swedish or English. We gather outside the Country Store at the open-air museum Hägnan.
The open-air museum Hägnan is filled with cultural-historical houses and garden environments that you can visit. If we want to get an idea of how our ancestors lived during the 1700s, we must try to imagine a farmer's or crofter's cottage or perhaps a small, inconspicuous hill cottage somewhere out in the countryside. During the guided tour you get to bow your head in the low doorway, lift your foot over the threshold and step into the semi-darkness in our cottage. You will see where the food was stored in times of self-sufficiency and visit Hägnan's Norrbotten farmhouse with interiors from the late 1800s.
Practical information: Limited disabled access in some of the houses.
