History evening at Hägnan

Sweden underwent radical changes during the early 1900s. The industralisation, the urbanization and new technologies opened up possibilities to communication - both people and ideas traveled faster. In the economical grownt was optimism but also concern. How was the everyday life in the villages outside of Luleå affected by the industrial technical growth?

The evening begins with a dramatization exploring the pros and cons of different light sources around the turn of the last century. Senior Lecturer Roine Viklund shares the story of Norrbotten’s journey Out of the Darkness. We’ll take a coffee break at Kafé Fägnan, and then round off the evening with a conversation about the questions raised by history.

Kafé Fägnan is open from 6 PM to 8 PM, and the Country Store from 5 PM to 8 PM.
