Gammelstad Church Town is celebrating 30 years as a World Heritage Site – and we’re celebrating in style! At the end of February, a joyful and eventful jubilee opening will light up the winter darkness, of course right here in the church town.

10:00–11:00 Guided tour of the World Heritage Site Gammelstad Church Town – Visitor Center. (In Swedish only)

11:00–15:00 Step into a real church cottage – Exhibition Cottage

The Nederluleå Local Heritage Association invites you to visit their exhibition cottage. Address: Church cottage numbers 253–254 (along Framlänningsvägen).
12:00–16:00 Visitor Center open – exhibition, play corner and more
Free admission!
Explore the exhibition “Gammelstad – A Church Town of World Heritage Class”. It includes interactive elements, a children’s play corner, and a model of a church cottage that you can step inside.
13:00–14:00 Grand Jubilee Opening – Nederluleå Church
Free admission! (In Swedish only).
Speeches by Municipal Commissioner Carina Sammeli and the matinee performance “The Magical Key and the Shadow of the Past”. An exciting journey through time for children and curious minds of all ages. Cultural historian and Gammelstad expert Lisa Lång, along with local choirs and performers, take part. Afterwards, the parish invites everyone for coffee and refreshments.
