When: Walpurgis eve, Wednesday April 30.
Where: The open-air museum Hägnan.
Time: 6 pm-9 pm.
The bonfire is lit 8 pm at Hägnan's parking lot.
Come and celebrate the arrival of spring with us at the open-air museum Hägnan. During the evening you can watch a sparkling bonfire, listen to choir music, a spring speech and maybe even meet Valborg herself!
Program
- Family theatre in the Large farmhouse. Meet Valborg herself in the Large farmhouse, where she in a playful and instructive way will tell you more about why we celebrate Walpurgis and Walpurgis eve. In Swedish: 6 pm, 6.15 pm, 6.45 pm,7 pm and 7.15 pm. In English: 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm.
- Meet the Fire Department. Check out the fire truck and learn more about fire safety, 6 pm- 7.30 pm. Please note that this part of the program may be cancelled if they are called out on a mission.
- The Country Store and Kafé Fägnan are open 6 pm-8 pm.
By the bonfire
- 7.45 pm Hanna Ringbjer, museum director at Hägnan greets everyone welcome.
- 7.50 pm Spring speech by Carina Sammeli, municipal councilor and chairman of the municipal board.
- 8 pm The bonfire is lit.
- 8 pm- 8.30 pm The student choir from the university’s Theatre Academy performs.
- 8.30 pm Stay and watch the fire turn into embers with our caretakers.
Tip! Bring something hot to drink and sausages to grill by the bonfire or in one of our fire pits. Firewood and barbeque sticks are available on site.
