Folk Music Festival

When: Saturday June 15th.
Where: The open-air museum Hägnan.
Time: 11 am-4 pm.
Arranged by: Luleå Hembygdsgille and Norrbottens Spelmansförbund.
Entrance fee: 60 SEK per person. Free for musicians and children under the age of 18.

Welcome to this year’s folk music festival at the open-air museum Hägnan! A day packed with music performances, dance performances and much more.

On the stage

  • 11 am Folk music parade from the church square to Hägnan. Play along from the stage, led by Stellan Backman.
  • 12:20 pm Welcome speech from the main stage.
  • 12:30 pm Råneåskolan’s music team with Daniel Nyström.
  • 12:50 pm Kadrell’n with dancers.
  • 1:10 pm Målselv music team with young dancers.
  • 1:30 pm Sorsele music team.
  • 1:50 pm RÄLLÄ from Uleåborg, Finland.
  • 2:10 pm Marie-Therese Bystedt and Daniel Nyström.
  • 2:30 pm Drottningsylt.
  • 2:50 pm Luleå hometown guild’s music team with Danskul.
  • 3:30 pm JP Nyström, Luleå Hembygdsgille (Luleå hometown guild) dance Korskadriljen.
  • 4 pm Play along and end of the festivities at Hägnan.

Other activities

  • 9:15 am-10:30 pm Workshop with RÄLLÄ in the round barn (in Swedish).
  • 12 pm-3 pm Folk costume market.
  • 1 pm Workshop, folk music singing with carin Ehelmsdotter in the round barn (in Swedish).
  • 1 pm The grand opening of Hägnan’s hobby horse track.
  • 2 pm-3 pm Dance workshop for children in the round barn.
  • 11 am-4 pm Kafé Fägnan, the country store and Hägnan’s farmhouses are open.
