Hägnan's Christmas market

Where: The open-air museum Hägnan.
When: December 7-8, 12 pm-4 pm.
Entry: Entrance ticket needed.

Welcome to a traditional Christmas market in a cosy and genuine environment that truly breathes Christmas spirit. Here you can walk among historic buildings, meet the Santa family and their reindeer, listen to Christmas carols, go on a fairytale walk, learn more about the old Swedish Christmas traditions and stroll among our carefully selected exhibitors, where you might find a Christmas gift or two. The market is arranged outdoors on the museum grounds and in some of the buildings. We have approximately ninety exhibitors that sell everything from home baked goods to handicraft products.

Tickets

To ensure the quality of the event and to avoid crowding we have a limited number of tickets to the market, so make sure to buy your entrance ticket in good time before the event. The pre-booking closes one day before each market day.The fee is 40 SEK per person for pre-purchased tickets online, 60 SEK per person for tickets on site. Free for children under 18 years old (remember to add the number of free tickets for children as well in your pre-booking). Tickets by the entrance will only be sold if we have capacity for more visitors on the area. You can also buy your ticket at the Visitor Center, if you need assistance with your booking.

For tour operators, e-mail hagnan@lulea.se between November 11-29 to pre-book your tickets. Please note that we have a limited number of tickets.

The online booking opens on November 11 at 10:00 am. The ticket is non-refundable.

Saturday December 7

  • Handicraft products, home baked goods and delicacies for purchase on the grounds 12 pm-4 pm.
  • Visit our fictional family in Storgården (the large farmhouse) as they prepare for Christmas 12 pm-4 pm.
  • Fairytale walk for Children at 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm (Swedish).
  • Meet Santa Claus and his wife outside of Peri-Hanscha 12 pm-4 pm.
  • The folk music group Trio Iktus performs in Storgården 2 pm-3 pm.
  • Meet the Christmas goat and Frans the drifter 12 pm-4 pm.
  • The Country store and Kafé Fägnan are open 12 pm-4 pm.
  • Vist the wise Mother Hulda in the croft 12 pm-4 pm.
  • Visit the blacksmith in the smithy 12 pm-4 pm.
  • Watch the sheep being fed at 1 pm.
  • Meet Santa's reindeer 12 pm-3 pm.
  • Horse and sleigh 12 pm-3 pm.

Sunday December 8

  • The Lucia Choir sings Christmas carols outside of Storgården 2 pm-2:30 pm.
