From Svartöbrinken, the City of Luleå
The playhouse once stood near the manager’s house on Svartöbrinken, where it was owned and used by the well-known playwright, author and actor Staffan Westerberg, in the picture to the right. He is best known to the public for his classic children’s programme Vilse i pannkakan.
The playhouse is from the late 1930s. As a building type, the playhouse is primarily a bourgeois phenomenon that dates from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. It was not until later that it became popular in rural areas.
