Welcome to spend the autumn break with us at the open-air museum Hägnan and the Visitor Center in the church town of Gammelstad! All activities are free of charge.

OCTOBER 28-30 ,12 PM-3 PM: Darkness, light, and magical electricity are the themes of our autumn break activities. Join us for historical walks, open play environments, creative workshops and visits to the Country Store and Kafé Fägnan.
Historical walk for children: Electricity on the loose!
Lars Magnus in Storgården clutches his lantern tightly, skeptical of the new electricity, while Elias Ström in Peri-Hanscha farm has just lit his first lightbulb. In the darkness lurks the Mountain Hag, afraid the light will reveal her secrets...
Starts at 12 PM, 1 PM, and 2 PM at Hägnan’s yellow dance floor. For children aged 4 and up.
Open play environments
At the Children's Hägnan and the Peri-Hanscha farmhouse.
Creative workshop
Held in The Lodge, with the theme darkness and light.
Open museum farmhouses
Enter Storgården and the Peri-Hanscha farmhouse.
Open for shopping and food
The Country Store and Kafé Fägnan are open.
OCTOBER 28–30, 12 PM–4 PM: Celebrate the autumn break at the Visitor Center with Halloween-themed creative workshops, a visit from Musilda, a spooky fairy tale walk for children, and a tricky quiz trail through the church town!
Halloween-themed Creative Workshop
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 12 PM–4 PM. Make ghostly decorations and design your own Halloween mask! The workshop is set up in the exhibition area at the Visitor Center.
Musilda visits
Tuesday and Wednesday at 1.30 PM. Our popular and cuddly mascot Musilda will be visiting the exhibition.
Quiz Trail in the Church Town
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 12 PM–4 PM. A tricky ghost-themed quiz trail through the historic church town.
Spooky Fairy Tale Walk
Tuesday and Wednesday at 3 PM. Starts at the Visitor Center. As dusk falls over the church town, we gather for a short walk filled with tales that spark the imagination and send shivers down your spine. Hear stories of the Mountain Hag and the giants of Bälingeberget, the Mare who sneaks into dreams, the Well Man lurking in the depths—and Julsven, whose footprints appear when the snow is at its whitest.
For children aged 6 and up. Curiosity, courage and adult company recommended!
