Come and celebrate the National Day of Sweden with us at the open-air museum Hägnan! On the program you'll find music- and dance performances, traditional craft techniques for display, a mini market and lots of other fun activities for the entire family. The celebration begins with a parade from the church square down to Hägnan.
On the stage
- 11:30 AM National Day parade, starting at Kyrktorget (the church square).
- 11:45 AM Performance by Kulturskolan's orchestra Blåsningen.
- 12.00 PM Flag raising and sing along to the national anthem.
- 12:05 PM Speech by Lotta Finstorp, County Governor of Norrbotten.
- 12:15 PM Folk music performance by Luleå Hembygdsgille.
- 12:45 PM Dance performance by Luleå Hembygdsgille.
- 1:00 PM Awarding of the Sigrid Godråda diploma.
- 1:05 PM Summer songs sing along.
- 1:30 Dance performance by Luleå Bugg & Swing.
Other activities
- Minimarket outside of the large farmhouse.
- Traditional handicraft techniques by Norrbotten county handicraft association in the large farmhouse.
- Make your own flag in the round barn and try old play tools at the Children's square.
- Bread sale in the Peri-Hanscha farmhouse at 11:30 AM-1:30 PM.
- Animal feeding at 1:00 PM, starting at the sheep enclosure.
- Café Fägnan and the Country Store are open 11.00 AM-3.00 PM.

Parking and busses
The National Day celebrations are usually well attended and the parking spaces are limited, so we recommend as many people as possible travel by bus. There will be a parking fee of 40 SEK at all of the major parking lots, the fee goes to the association that manages the parking. There are parking spaces for visitors with disability permits at the parking lot behind Kafé Fägnan, with entry from Rutviksvägen. With regard to the bus traffic and emergency vehicles, keep in mind not to park in unauthorized areas by the side of the road.
Bus number 9 (Luleå Lokaltrafik, LLT) goes all the way to the church town of Gammelstad. On the National Day the bus stops at "Sandåkersvägen". You can also take bus number 1 and 2 to "Stadsö Centrum" but it requires an approx. 20 minutes walk to get to the church town and Hägnan.

During the national day celebration at Hägnan, we organize a mini market outside of Storgården at 11.30 AM-3 PM. The booking is made digitally and opens on May 4 at 09.00. Don't forget to read through the product requirements and our terms and conditions before you book your market stall. You book your market stall via the button at the bottom of the page (visible at the market release).
We have 12 bookable market stalls equipped with roofs, all of which are located outdoors outside the large farmhouse. The price incl. VAT is 400 SEK per market stall. It is not possible to choose your market stall; your assigned market stall will be notified upon arrival. Keep in mind that Hägnan provides all market stalls and tables. It is not allowed to expand your marketplace with your own tables and racks, if you need more space, you can book two market stalls.
Product requirements
The open-air museum Hägnan's markets have an old-fashioned character, where the focus lies on self-produced handicraft products, art works, delicacies and home-baked goods. Please note that packaged food products are allowed but that all food and drink for direct consumption is handled by Kafé Fägnan. In some cases, tasting may be allowed.
